Davos: Positive Balance of the Government with Companies at the Forum
Representatives from international energy, natural resources, and pharmaceutical companies expressed their interest to expand their investments and operations in the country, with a focus on the Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of the Argentines law project aimed at creating favorable conditions for project development.
At the Davos Economic Forum in Switzerland, the Chief of Staff, Nicolás Posse, along with the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, held meetings with executives and representatives of companies in the energy sector, natural resources, and the pharmaceutical industry, who expressed their interest in expanding their investments and participation in the country, with their expectations focused on the Bases and Starting Points for the Freedom of the Argentines law project and its legislative treatment in the Congress.
The day's meetings included discussions with executives from companies such as Amazon, Glencore, Total, Naturgy, and MSD. Amazon Web expressed interest in our country, highlighting the capabilities of Argentine human capital and emphasizing the advantages for entrepreneurs. Glencore, the global natural resources company headquartered in Switzerland, expressed interest in expanding its investments in Argentina in the future, as did Total, the French energy company with significant operations in our country.
There was also a meeting with the International President of Human Health at MSD, the multinational pharmaceutical company based in New Jersey, United States. The agenda concluded with an exchange with executives from Naturgy, the Spanish energy company operating in the electricity and gas sectors.
Posse and Caputo also met with the Secretary of Financial and European Policies of Germany, Joerg Kukies, and the Minister of Special Affairs of the German government, Wolfgang Schmid. The conversation revolved around sustainable energy and mining.
Second meeting with the IMF and on economic reforms in Argentina
President Javier Milei, Nicolás Posse, and Luis Caputo held a meeting with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, who expressed enthusiasm for the economic program and the determination of the government, praising the Argentine economic team. Before the meeting with the President, Caputo and Posse held a preliminary meeting with the head of the organization.
Furthermore, in the panel "Country strategy dialogue on Argentina”, Posse, Caputo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Diana Mondino, spoke about the economic reforms promoted by President Milei.
During the meeting, moderated by the former President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Luis Alberto Moreno, National Government officials presented on the economic reforms promoted by President Javier Milei. Additionally, the meeting discussed the development agenda, technology, and artificial intelligence in the region.
