The National Commission for the Defence of Competition (CNDC, for its acronym in Spanish) has been chosen as the host and coordinating agency for the next Latin American and Caribbean Competition Forum (FLACC), which is held with the support of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
The FLACC is an annual event which fosters the promotion of competition law and policy in the region through dialogue, consensus building and the exchange of experiences between agencies and experts.
In October 2026, for the second time in history, the Argentine authority will host this event.
The designation represents an opportunity for the Argentine competition authority to reaffirm its commitment to promoting modern, effective competition policies that are aligned with the highest international standards.
In addition, the choice of Buenos Aires as the venue represents a strategic opportunity to highlight, at the national level, the importance of competition policy in promoting more dynamic, transparent and inclusive markets. This visibility can help strengthen the local agenda, consolidate institutional alliances and raise public awareness of the benefits that competition brings to economic growth and consumer welfare.
The announcement of next year's venue was made at the closing session of the 2025 edition of the FLACC ―held in Asunción, Paraguay― by Frédéric Jenny, President of FLACC and the OECD Global Competition Forum, and Mario Umaña, Senior Competition Consultant at the IDB, in the presence of the President of the CNDC, Dr. Eduardo Montamat.
