The presence of Root-knot nematodes (Meloydogyne sp.) results in yield losses in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) crops.
In a greenhouse affected by this pest, a biosolarization trial was designed with two soil treatments: 1) control; 2) biosolarization with mature cow manure (8.9 Kg/m2). The soil was covered with 50-micron polyethylene and irrigated to field capacity. Samples of wheat colonized by Sclerotinia sp. (n=3) were buried to evaluate the effectiveness of the heat treatment. The soil temperature was recorded for 43 days at two depths (10 and 20 cm).
